Skin of the Forest: a Photographic Dialogue between Body and Nature
Skin of the Forest is a photo series that originates from the urge to escape the city noise. It’s a silent act of return to nature that we interpreted with body presence and intimacy, looking for a different way of being seen.
Skin of the Forest - Hug
In this project, outdoor nude photography follows a ritual of reconnection with the surrounding, while time follows the rhythm natural breath and the wind. The human presence does not dominate the forest and slowly dissolves into it. Skin and bark resonate together. Scars, textures and light compose a dialogue between the human and the more-than-human.
The shooting was made entirely outdoor, fusing the experience with walking, discovering the environment, talking, and laughing in the meantime. We avoided artificial poses and controlled movements, using nudity not as an act of exposure but as an act of belonging. I always thought that, while also useful, no studios can easily match the experience of some moments of magic that outdoor nude photography allows you to get when you just wait and allow yourself to be authentic.
Skin of the Forest - Emerge
The series is natural and raw in its most essential form: it becomes a practice of sharing experience, of listening to yourself and to the land that becomes more than just a background. In a culture that often treats nature as resource and nudity as spectacle, Skin of the Forest offers a quieter alternative, asking us to pause, to feel, and, most of all, to remember that we are not really separate from the forest.
