A Lens to the Soul: Photography as a Medium for Connection and Transformation

Ritratto di Frankie Breakfast al museo dei selfie di Firenze

I discovered photography in the second half of my life. My journey began with writing — my first means of narration — when I felt the urge to tell what I observed in the world around me and what was hidden in my thoughts. Over time, the need to capture a moment in time and translate my perspective into a visual language led me to photography.

Photography has become my way of establishing deep connections with others, transcending geographical and cultural distances, revealing both my own and others' fragility, and telling our stories. Initially drawn to the interplay of light and the grandeur of nature, I found my creative voice through artistic nude and fashion photography. I am fascinated by the transformation of seemingly ordinary subjects into extraordinary compositions — where strength and human vulnerability coexist in delicate balance.

After moving from Sicily and Tuscany to Vienna, I discovered a more dynamic cultural environment that fueled my artistic curiosity. In recent years, I have felt an increasing desire to deepen my historical knowledge, refine my visual language, and engage in the dialogue between art and artist. I see my work as an ongoing exploration — an attempt to merge photography with storytelling, to create images that not only speak but invite conversation.

My long-term goal is to be recognized as an artist capable of opening new spaces for reflection, shaping how we see the world. Photography is my way of searching, questioning, and ultimately, connecting.
